Trade, TN?  Just where is this place?  Well, Trade is in the uppermost corner of northeast Tennessee.  It is located northwest of Boone, NC and northeast of Johnson City, TN.

Trade is an unincorporated community comprised of mostly rural farmland.  The agricultural products, grain and cattle.  Trade is located in Johnson County, TN.  The county population is 16,736.

Although Trade is very rural, it is close to many commercial and cultural attractions.  Mountain City, TN is the closest town.  The citizens of Mountain City love the small town life.  The closest city is Boone, NC.  Boone is the home to Appalachian State University, known for its highly acclaimed Department of Education and the three time National Champion Football team. The university attracts a wide variety of businesses. Also located in Boone is Samaritan's Purse, an organization committed to helping people all over the world through Operation Christmas Child and World Medical Missions. 

There are four major ski resorts in the area- Beech Mountain, Appalachian, Sugar Loaf and Hawk's Nest.  Tweetsie Railroad and The Blowing Rock are major tourist attractions during the warm months.  Additionally, thousands come to our area annually to view the dramatic and colorful fall foliage.  The Blue Ridge Parkway is just a short drive from Trade as is the Appalachian Trail.

Trade is the oldest community in Tennessee.  A trading post was established here for Native Americans and pioneers to have a place to buy and sell their wares.  Trade is a small community, and a wonderful place to live!
